Type changer can no longer combine channels

Description

Recently the TypeChanger plugin was completely rewritten. In the process it lost the ability to combine channels. Replace this functionality.

I have a proposed fix on the fix-type-changer branch. It needs to be tested. However IJ2 is broken now such that some plugins (including this one) hang the app. Thus I can't test at the moment.
