Work has been started on this in imglib's for-steffi branch which serves three purposes: to convert the examples, to provide a concrete migration guide to be accompanied by proper documentation, and to teach dscho how to do things in ImgLib2.

I am actually pretty happy with what Tobias and Steffi did:

 http://fiji.sc/ImgLib2_Examples

So, while I did little (real) work on this issue, that part of the work is done.

The migration guide becomes a little less important, but the Code Templates need to be done after the Script Editor is done.

Fiji's Script Editor already got updated with an ImgLib2 example (replacing the old ImgLib1 one), thanks to Curtis.

Closing this ticket. See:  http://fiji.sc/ImgLib2_Examples. More can always be done but the need is less paramount now.
