Description
LOCI originally created VisBio to visualize large multidimensional biological datasets beyond space and time—in particular, a major goal was to provide a tool for working with combined spectral lifetime data. However, we ended up creating a second program, SLIM Plotter, specifically for that purpose, and never integrated the functionality into anything else (VisBio, ImageJ, etc.).
We would like to create several views for spectral lifetime data within ImageJ as part of a VisBio add-on:
- Intensity view (collapses lifetime histograms)
- Lifetime decay view (histogram at a given pixel or region)
- Spectral distribution view
The views should be linked by user interaction as appropriate.
As we begin working to integrate these SLIM Plotter goals into ImageJ, we should split out tasks into more tickets.

Our current solution is the SLIM Curve plugin for ImageJ. It would still be nice to integrate more related functionality from SLIM Plotter and VisBio into the SLIM Curve plugin, but those sorts of improvements are covered in the SLIM Curve plugin issues on GitHub.
