Load clown.jpg. Brightest pixel on clown's right eye at (85, 43) is (245, 226, 209).

Do Plugins/Utilities/Capture Image or Capture Screen to make a copy. Same pixel on copy is (243, 219, 198).

This was observed on OS X Lion. Pixel values can be obtained using Applications/Utilities/DigitalColor Meter.app. I recall Windows comes with a similar tool.

IJ2 Probe Tool gives (221, 204, 186) for the same pixel on original and (213, 193, 171) on copy.
