Create a user story for the release [plugins]

Description

For the release we should have a user story that shows a subset of what it can do. This would be useful for demos and would show some of the ways we are making progress.

This is the last thing to tackle for the beta, and hence lower priority than the other feature tickets.

A partial list of things done since 7-13-12 (beta 3 release date):

  • many updater and launcher changes (many: Johannes can you summaraize some of them?)
  • Process > Math > Equation : language changes
  • numerous changes to legacy compatibility layer to improve results
  • SamplerService and related classes and improved DuplicateImage plugin
  • architecture changes (RenderingService, many others: Curtis can you summarize some of them?)
  • changes related to use of JHotDraw (Curtis?)
  • uploader classes inside IJ2 core
  • grayscale type conversions in place
  • extensible widget groundwork (input widgets now discoverable)
  • ScreenCaptureService and Capture Image and Capture Screen plugins
  • progress on a example UI (Pivot)
  • Select View, Select Overlays, Deselect Overlays plugins
  • numerous bug fixes
  • tutorial examples
  • some OPS changes (see some URL that points at github)
  • legacy compatibility mode
  • salt and pepper works with any image type and is user configurable
  • direct api for plugins

(this list is complete thru 9-3-12 ij2 timeline)
