Description
Currently, if you open an image with dimensions other than X, Y, C, Z and T, the data is read but no image window appears on screen afterwards. We need to diagnose the issue, and adjust the code to support additional dimensions at least limitedly (e.g., Z*C*T no longer always equals the plane count).
Once this is done, it will become feasible to implement alternate display plugins that can handle the additional dimensions.

The main reason for expediting this development is to ensure that we can demo Aivar's SLIM plugin at the conference.
