Description (last modified by rlentz)

Cover features of Maya and Photoshop APIs to conclude standard based approaches of value for ImageJ.

There are a number of extensible commercial applications that have developed robust plugin frameworks over a course of years. It makes sense for us to study these infrastructures, identify the commonalities of their design, and suggest principles for application to a next-generation ImageJ plugin architecture. The ultimate goal is to avoid repeating any mistakes made during development of these existing frameworks, learn from their experience, and create a plugin system for ImageJ leveraging industry best practices and standards where possible.
