Expose and utilize display range API

Description

Many plugins (such as the Process > Math ones) do not change the display range even though they may greatly affect pixel values. We should determine which plugins would benefit by resetting the display range after running. To do this we may need to expose some display API. (See Brightness/Contrast plugin to see if that is indeed the case)
